IGNITE THE SPARK AT WISTON

THURSDAY 21st SEPTEMBER, 9.30 AM to 5 PM

After our sold-out inaugural course, we’re back at the beautiful Wiston Estate Winery in the heart of the Sussex countryside.

‘Ignite the Spark’ is quite simply for anyone who’s ever dreamt about writing. A one-day workshop dedicated to uncovering your ideas and getting them down on the page. Location is at the heart of our writing day, where surroundings are key, food is thoughtful, local and delicious, with time carved out for walks and contemplation.

The course takes guests through a process of inspiration and idea generation. We’ll explore the building blocks of story, examine what makes a great scene, the importance of setting and how to create believable dialogue. We are output focused, so everyone will begin a piece of writing and work on it throughout the day, building and amending as they go, providing a springboard to continue their writing journey into the future.

We start at Chalk restaurant with tea, coffee and pastries before a tractor-trailer takes us to the Wine Barn – the perfect retreat for a day of writing – set within the lush Wiston vineyard. Lunch will be delivered by Chalk, and at the end of the day, the trailer returns us to the wine-tasting room for a celebratory glass of Wiston bubbles. Becky and Alex will offer guests a ten-minute one-to-one to talk through next writing steps or give you further insight into our wealth of industry and creative knowledge.

The day will be explorative, productive, nourishing and fun, and we look forward to writing with you.
